back after a long break! i was in japan for a month and then had to start working pretty much immediately. i got a job! i'm hoping to get back into the swing of things here. i have a lot of ideas for little projects
ngl i'm actually pissed that summer is almost over
is anyone there? here are two important pics from japan
i guess im also going to start djing - i bought an xdj lol
note to self: next time you come to japan, just stay for a month
my husband… it still catches in my throat when i say it-- feels borrowed! still, he’s out tonight playing third strike at an arcade. outside, the sky is a heavy slate blue, streaked with dense gray
i’m inside learning about the apartment. Ok that's all
Sent from my frizzy hair
April 18, 2025 - 10am (JST)subletting is such an intimate experience-- this place is tiny which makes everything feel even more personal. i feel like i can hear the neighbors breathing. the apartment is full of little touches that make it feel lived in-- a pair of slippers by the door, a half used bottle of shampoo in the shower, a few books on the shelf. i like it!!
Kichijoji is a really chill neighborhood. it's a 5 min walk to the station. i can get to shinjuku in like 15. there's a lot of vintage shops and cafes around here too.
i'm here for a month, and i'm planning to do a lot of exploring. i want to check out some of the art galleries, and maybe even take a day trip to kyoto or kamakura.
i'm also looking forward to meeting up with some friends who live here. it's always nice to have a local guide when you're in a new city.
overall, i'm really excited to be here. it's a bit overwhelming at times, but i'm sure i'll get the hang of it soon enough.
the plane: 14hrs long. swear to fuck this BABY-- every 15 mins it'd cycle between complete sentences and baby babble, punctuated by demonic, low pitched screeches. she was a cutie tho lol
yesterday: nakano broadway is insane and i need to go back today to dig thru the crates of stationery + artist books!! picked up the book below by @ace_akira_! ended the night at an izakaya in shinjuku with some ppl, skirted the succubus bar (lol i'm good)
first blog entry + i'm leaving for japan soon!
i'm pleased w/ myself-- i'd made a goal of getting snotspoon up and running (mostly) before my flight, and i did it! i'm looking forward to blogging in real time when i'm away. if anyone is reading this, expect lots of pictures!
once i'm there and have some downtime, i'm planning to put together a site to-do list. first order of biz
will probably be to finish a drag and drop project i'd started back in february, then probs release some
background graphics and stuff
lists, goals, and just general concepts of organization are so new to me. i'm excited to see how i'll grow as i continue to work on this site. gosh there's so much to do
